Randomness : This gallery is created basically so I have a place to drop all the shots I take here and there just...well, randomly! Hope you enjoy this catch-all gallery of who knows what photos. ~Twila Allen

Everyday Color : This collection is greatly inspired by color photographer William Eggleston. Like many, when I was exposed to his work I didn't understand or appreciate it, but as time went on I came to actually start visualizing my surroundings in a very Eggleston sort of way. I have to admit now, I'm quite proud to say he has influenced my eye.

Motels : Old motels are something that caught my curiosity when I was in my final years of college. I was given a project assignment to do a color documentary on a subject of my choosing. I realized there were several interesting motels in town that still had old signs and fixtures. So that's when the pursuit of motels began and I've continued to photograph motels as I come across them on trips or simply driving around town.
More images will be added to this gallery and I hope to publish a book someday of my motel adventures.

Self Portraits : Hi, my name is Twila Allen and I am a freelance photographer in the middle TN area. I am originally from Memphis, but moved to Murfreesboro to attend Middle TN State University. There I studied photography, art, and business and earned my BA in Photography. I currently live in Smyrna and work out of my home. I've been doing photography for nearly 11 years and I still love it and learn something new every time I shoot.
